I don't expect too many of those would have found there way to Oz. They are still available overseas but IMO are a bit pricey - especially when you factor in freight & insurance.

Yup, there are a few around. A dealer in QLD used to stock them but sold out around late 2008.

There are a few around, and a few Aussie makers who can make one close to the specs... but from what I have seen, the Aussie makers willing to do so charge approx 2-3 times more than the guys in the US... I guess filling out a permit is just on the cards in the near future worst comes to worst.

I originally wanted a custom BBC inspired sub-hilt design, in damascus with imitation ivory handles... USA quote... $600ish, Aussie quote... $1600ish. /cry

A lot of people like to bag out on CS but I have 3 of their SanMai products and they all have excellent fit n finish. I can't comment on performance since they're all safequeens but they are impressive blades.
